BABBITT’S ONLINE/MONSTER ENERGY®/KAWASAKI TEAM GREEN’S LYNDON SNODGRASS LANDS ON THE PODIUM AT THE WILD BOAR GNCC

Palatka, Florida.- The second round of the Grand National Cross Country Series was held over the weekend in the sands and palmettos of Florida at the Hog Waller Mud Bog facility, where Lyndon Snodgrass would conquer the sand and mud to bounce back after a disappointing first round to land himself on the podium. Teammate Grant Baylor was in contention for his own spot on the podium as well before he suffered a late-race bike malfunction.

The beginning of the race didn't unfold as either rider had hoped., with both suffering from dismal starts, resulting in placement towards the rear of the field going into the woods. At the end of one lap of racing, Snodgrass would be in seventh place, with Baylor one spot behind in eighth. Over the next two hours of racing, both teammates would make a charge through the pack into podium positions together, before Baylor’s bike would suffer a mechanical with one lap of racing remaining while running in the third-place position. Snodgrass would end up claiming third in the XC-1 Pro class at the conclusion of the race.

“It feels so awesome to be back on the podium; it feels like I've been trying for the last year now to no avail. Everyone took off so fast at the start, and I was struggling to keep up, but I rode a solid race and just started clicking off my laps, and it ended up playing out in my favor there at the end,” said Snodgrass.

The third round of the GNCC series will take place in less than one week at the General GNCC in Washington, Georgia, on March 10th.
