Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP’s Romain Febvre Clinches 2025 MXGP World Title in Australia

Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP’s Romain Febvre secured his second FIM World MXGP Motocross Championship title—and the first for the Kawasaki KX450-SR—after a calculated ride to fourth place in the opening moto of the season finale in Darwin, Australia.

The 33-year-old Frenchman arrived at the final round with a commanding 47-point lead over his last remaining title rival. When adverse weather forced organizers to cancel the second moto, Febvre’s advantage was unassailable, officially sealing the championship.

This triumph crowns a season defined by Febvre’s consistency, determination, and endurance, alongside the exceptional performance and reliability of the Kawasaki KX450-SR. The victory also marks a historic achievement: Febvre’s second MXGP world title, coming ten years after his first—setting a record for the longest span between titles. It is also Kawasaki’s first MXGP world championship of the modern four-stroke era, following several near-misses, including Febvre’s runner-up finishes in 2021 and 2023.

Romain Febvre:
"I really don’t know what to say; this is such an emotional moment. My ultimate goal for the last ten years has been to be champion again, and now I have achieved that with Kawasaki. It’s been a tough year, but we were prepared, and we brought it home. My thanks to Kawasaki, the entire KRT team, Monster Energy, and all of our sponsors."
